En avril 2005, j’avais eu la surprise de recevoir un message de Nick Kiriazis pour me remercier du site que j’avais ouvert depuis deux ans. J’étais partagé entre l’incrédulité et l’euphorie. Canular, pas canular ? Non, ce n’en était pas un. Cela s’est prouvé quand il m’a envoyé des autographes, comme autre signe de remerciement. Un lien s’était créé.
Et le lien fut gardé. Quand j’étais adolescente, je m’étais construite le rêve de visiter la Californie. Donc à l’occasion de quelques mails échangés, j’ai également eu l’envie de le rencontrer.
Et puis, la collaboration avec Cendrine est arrivée. Heureusement sinon le site aurait pu s’éteindre à petit feu…
Quand on a prévu de faire notre voyage à Los Angeles, Seal Beach « les terres de Sunset Beach » , une de nos premières pensées à été « Il faut qu’on rencontre Nick ». Après plus de dix ans de travail sur un site pour une personne qu’on admire mais qu’on ne connaît pas, on a envie de concret. De mettre une personnalité à un visage connu.
Après de nombreux échanges, on a enfin pu planifier un rendez-vous près des studios Burbank (anciennement NBC où étaient tournés en partie la série).
C’était vraiment LA rencontre : celle d’un artiste, un acteur avec ses fans. Une sorte d’aboutissement. Et en même temps, c’était un regain d’inspiration, de motivation.
C’était curieux : on avait l’impression de le connaître depuis des années mais on ne savait presque rien de lui. C’était donc l’occasion d’en savoir plus sur sa carrière !

In April 2005, I had the surprise to receive an email from Nick Kiriazis to thank me about the website. It was opened for just two years. I was incredulous and overjoyed. I thought it was a hoax first but no, it wasn’t. And then Nick sent me some autographs. A bond has been created.
And the bond has been kept. I had the California Dream since I was a teenager. So after receiving some mails from him, I wanted to meet him too.
Then I met Cendrine and she collaborates on the website. Fortunately. The website would have been able to stop in the long term.
When we planned to make our trip in Los Angeles and Seal Beach “The land of Sunset Beach”, one of our first thought was “We have to meet Nick”. After more than ten years of work on a website for a person I like but don’t know, I wanted something concrete. To associate a personality, traits to a known face.
It was difficult but after many conversations, a meeting was finally planned near the Burbank Studios (formerly the NBC studios where the show was partly shot.
It was THE meeting: the one between an artist, an actor and his fans. For me, it was a kind of a completion and at the same time a renewal of inspiration.
It was strange: Cendrine and I had the feeling to know him for so many years but we barely know anything about him. So it was the occasion to know him better!
